Animation
Keep it simple, geometric and flat, like the background shape visuals we use in our Foleon Docs. Make sure all of the elements always contribute to the message.
Don’t distort the shapes. Instead, give meaning through shape, movement and color. At the same time, don’t go crazy moving them either. If you can keep the dynamism to one shape, even better.
Shapes can cover or mask. But never transform the shapes. Color transition should always be hard and solid. Don’t use opacity, gradients, or multiplying mode.
Video
Video is a great way to share your story while viewers can lean back. All of the above guidelines for graphic animation also apply to video. Below are some guidelines on how to keep other video content on-brand.
Keep transitions flat and without perspective. As mentioned, use solid shapes/masks in a geometric way. Full color only, no gradients are allowed. Use curved, diagonal or straight shapes/masks.
Text and headlines should always be based on our typographic style. Use Proxima Nova Extrabold/Black for titles or other large texts. For longer texts the Proxima Nova Light can be applied. For lower thirds always use Proxima Nova Extrabold/black for the name and Proxima Nova Regular for the job title.
They can have an icon, a white or dark blue background. Choose your icon wisely depending on the icon type. Depending on the background color of the video, the text background is always applied in white or dark blue color. And spacing around the text has a minimum size of the fontsize function.
Video outro
Make sure every video uses our logo outro. The original file can be found on the brand drive.
Moving photography
Sometimes Docs need a little extra dynamism. This can partly be solved with animated shapes, but we also have a small library of moving photos available there. These stock videos are of working marketers and readers in the workplace. Marketers can be seen in meetings or working on their laptop, while readers are busy reading on their laptop or other mobile device. Our photography guidelines also apply to these videos.
We own the rights to these videos, and as such they may not be used in any non-Foleon branded content, such as customer Foleon Docs.
